I hold a Master of Science in Literacy Education and began my career teaching in the elementary grades. I later served as an Adjunct Instructor in both the undergraduate and graduate Literacy programs at Cortland College, whose teacher preparation program is accredited by the American Association for Quality Educator Preparation (AAQEP). I then spent 16 years with global education publishers Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and McGraw Hill as a reading and math consultant and teacher trainer. In these roles, I designed and delivered both on-site and online professional learning, working with students, teachers, and conferences, to strengthen literacy instruction.
Building on this foundation, my work as an author, playwright, and poet reflects a broader commitment to growth and transformation. My children’s book value series supports literacy and social emotional learning for ages 3–7. My creative work also extends to the stage; my play JOY! has been selected for a readings, and I have been invited to participate in a Playwrights Lab, where I collaborate with and support the development of new works. My spiritual book, 50 Ways to Create Miracles in Life, offers practical ways to apply spiritual teachings in everyday life, and is currently being used in a study group. Across all of my work, my goal is to help others grow—with clarity, confidence, and purpose. My creative works can be viewed at elainechandler.com
