I hold a Master of Science in Literacy Education and began my career teaching in the elementary grades. I later served as an Adjunct Instructor in both the undergraduate and graduate Literacy programs at Cortland College, whose teacher preparation program is accredited by the American Association for Quality Educator Preparation (AAQEP). I then spent 16 years with global education publishers Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and McGraw Hill as a reading and math consultant and teacher trainer. In these roles, I designed and delivered both on-site and online professional learning, working with students, teachers, and conferences, to strengthen literacy instruction.
Building on this foundation, my work as an author, poet, and playwright reflects a broader commitment to growth and transformation. I write teacher preparation resources and children’s books—including the Everywhere Series for ages 3–7—that support literacy and social-emotional development. My creative work also extends to the stage; my play JOY! has been selected for a reading at the Z Theater in Virginia Beach, and I have been invited to participate in their Playwrights Lab, where I collaborate with and support the development of new works. In addition, my spiritual book, 50 Ways to Create Miracles in Life, draws from the teachings of Edgar Cayce, A Course in Miracles, and the Holy Bible to offer practical ways to apply these principles in everyday life, and is currently being used in a study group at the Edgar Cayce Center. Across all of my work, my goal is to help others grow—with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
